About The Position

The Dishwasher assists the Chef(s) and/or House Director in maintaining the kitchen at a collegiate sorority house, including the upkeep of the commercial kitchen and its equipment. Working under the instruction of the Head Chef and the Assistant Chef, the Dishwasher will help ensure that the residents and guests are provided healthy and safe dining experiences, exceptional customer service, and a comfortable and clean environment in which to dine. The Dishwasher must work behind the scenes to keep the kitchen running smoothly by attending to the facility and paying close attention to detail to ensure a clean, sanitary, and tidy environment.

Requirements

High school Diploma or GED equivalent required
Goal and team oriented, able to work closely with people while exhibiting a positive attitude
Well organized and able to work and make sound decisions under pressure and within tight deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
Availability to work in shifts, weekends and evenings
Must pass criminal background check

Responsibilities

Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen to include but not limited to serving lines, kitchen equipment, all dishes, tables, etc. before and after each meal
Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
Load and unload washing machines
Wash specific items by hand
Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
Ensure there are enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils
Remove garbage regularly
Sanitize the kitchen area including the floors
Clean dining room tables after meal service
Other Duties as assigned to advance the mission and goals of Alpha Gamma Delta’s Fraternity Housing Corporation
