The Steward properly cleans, stores, and maintains all washable items within a sanitary and safe working environment. This role is responsible for operating dishwashing equipment to ensure adequate supplies of clean and sanitary tableware at all times, maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation standards, and following proper food storage, handling, and preparation standards. The position also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment through regular floor maintenance, trash removal, proper storage of equipment, and cleaning of the dish area before the end of each shift. Additionally, the Steward handles and uses cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely and completes all training requirements.
