About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring all service and kitchen wares are clean and sanitized. The Dishwasher interacts with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The position requires a thorough understanding of the dish machine, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies, as well as compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards. The Dishwasher will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dish station, kitchen, and the entire venue, managing garbage and soiled linens, and communicating product needs to chefs or purchasers. Opening and closing procedures, including stocking stations and cleaning equipment, are also key responsibilities. The role involves learning through observation and participation, maintaining a positive attitude, and assisting with additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous porter and/or Dishwasher experience preferred.
  • Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
  • Must be able to move quickly.
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all service/kitchen wares are clean and sanitized.
  • Interact with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Aide in cleaning inside and outside the venue.
  • Proper storage and removal of garbage and soiled linens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dish station, the kitchen, and the entire venue.
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers while being a team player.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the dish machine.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of proper usage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
  • Possess general knowledge of the venue.
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Communicate product needs to the chefs and/or purchaser.
  • Properly set-up dish station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
  • Stock stations with necessary supplies.
  • Maintain and clean kitchen equipment.
  • Wipe down and sanitize stations.
  • Complete opening duties as assigned or directed.
  • Complete closing duties as assigned or directed.
  • Report all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
  • Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings (where applicable).
  • Attend and participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
  • Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
  • Portray a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
  • Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members.
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
