About The Position

At Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) - Cahaba Ridge Retirement, the Dishwasher / Kitchen Prep helps create a positive dining experience for residents. The role prepares, stocks, and maintains a fresh, appealing salad bar, supports residents with friendly dining-room service, keeps tables clean, and helps maintain safe and sanitary kitchen operations. No previous culinary experience is required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to work a consistent Sunday–Thursday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English.
• Able to obtain food handler permits required by local ordinances within the first two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine by loading, running, and unloading it; report mechanical issues and monitor and log water temperatures to ensure proper sanitization.
• Wash, store, and carefully handle tableware and kitchenware; keep the dish room clean and organized and maintain adequate supplies of clean items for the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as needed.
• Assist in the dining room by bussing tables, filling water carafes, preparing tables before meals, and delivering room-service orders.
• Safely use ovens, steamers, grills, kitchen tools, sharp utensils, and small appliances to support daily food preparation.
• Listen and respond politely to food comments or complaints and promptly report concerns to leadership.
• Perform support work and additional tasks, including trash removal.
• Prepare, stock, and maintain the salad bar.
