About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform duties to maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen by washing kitchen items, equipment, and area, removing trash, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The role requires a self-starting personality with an even disposition, and the ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner. Essential responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors, washing worktables, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and segregating and removing trash and garbage. The dishwasher will also steam clean or hose out garbage cans, sort bottles, and wash pots, pans, and trays by hand. They will scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or by machine, polish silver, and clean the inside of glasses. Transferring supplies and equipment, setting up banquet tables, and washing and peeling vegetables are also part of the duties. The role may involve cleaning duties for banquets and conventions and requires the employee to always be in uniform with a name identification badge. The position also involves supporting and adhering to the company's core values, mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy, and performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Sweeps and mops floors
  • Washes worktables, walls refrigerators, and meat blocks.
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
  • Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
  • Sorts bottles and breaks disposable ones in bottle crushing machine.
  • Washes pots, pans and trays by hand.
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to dishwashing machine.
  • Polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth.
  • Holds inverted glasses over revolving brushes to clean inside surfaces.
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck.
  • Sets up banquet tables.
  • Washes and peels vegetables using a knife or peeling machine.
  • May perform cleaning duties for banquets and conventions.
  • Required to be always in uniform when working on the property including wearing name identification badge.
  • Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
