About The Position

St. Luke's is seeking a part-time Dishwasher for their Food Service department. This role involves washing pots, pans, and utensils, assisting in the dish room, and properly storing and maintaining all items. The position also includes receiving stock, placing it in proper storage areas, and performing general cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping. The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No experience necessary, on job training will be provided.
  • Ability to walk for up to 7 hours, 30 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to sit for up to 1 hour at a time.
  • Ability to stand up to 1 ½ hours for 30 minutes at a time.
  • Frequently uses handling and occasionally twisting/turning.
  • Ability to lift (1-50 lb.).
  • Ability to carry (1-50 lb.).
  • Ability to push (1-50 lb.).
  • Ability to pull (1-50 lb.).
  • Occasionally involves stooping/bending.
  • Occasionally involves climbing.
  • Occasionally involves reaching above shoulder level.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation.

  • Practice good personal hygiene, grooming standards and follow uniform policy at all times.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Wash all pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Assist in the dish room and properly store and maintain all items.
  • Receive stock and place it in the proper storage areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and clean as directed.
  • Perform general sanitation, including wiping walls, sweeping under shelves, and cleaning equipment.
  • Set up pot-washing area.
  • Wash and store pan ware and utensils as necessary.
  • Receive stock and properly store, checking with supervisor for items needed to be pulled.
  • Continuous maintenance and sanitation of kitchen, particularly dish room and pot washing areas.
  • Remove all trash and maintain garbage cans.
  • Proper clean up/restocking at shift’s end, assisting the dish room.
  • Practice good personal hygiene, grooming standards, and follow uniform policy at all times.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follow appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate/model the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrate Performance Improvement in areas such as Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
