About The Position

Home Run Inn is looking for reliable and hard working Dishwashers/Bussers to join our Back of the House Teams in our Full Service restaurant in Chicago-Beverly! The Dishwasher is responsible for performing duties to maintain, wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dish-room and equipment clean and organized. As a Busser, you will maintaining a clean, organized dining area and supporting servers and kitchen staff. This position ensures tables are reset quickly, dining areas stay presentable, and guests receive prompt service. Must be available to work Friday-Sundays, along with some weekdays. Closing shifts. (4pm-close)

Requirements

  • Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
  • Continuously be able to physically lift, reach, bend and stop.
  • Food Handler certification. (Obtain within 30 days of being hired)
  • Safety shoes required to work all shifts.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Frequently be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older to operate equipment

Responsibilities

  • Load, run and unload dish machine.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle and understand variety of chemicals used in sanitation area.
  • Keep dish-room clean and organized to include all storage area.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
  • Bag and haul dish-room trash to dumpster at designed times.
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required to include sweeping, mopping cleaning walls.
  • Assist in cleaning cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, coolers and other equipment.
  • Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining room, restrooms, and service areas
  • Assist servers by refilling beverages, delivering food, and pre-bussing tables
  • Stock service stations (napkins, utensils, condiments, etc.)
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
