About The Position

The Discovery Scientist I works within Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Experimental Therapeutics, a cross-functional research team that uses small molecules, biologics, automated systems, and advanced technologies to move early drug discovery projects toward clinical development. This is a non-patient-facing role involving the design and execution of experiments, development of modern drug discovery expertise, data analysis, and contributions to scientific presentations. The scientist collaborates with experienced mentors and multidisciplinary colleagues in a setting that values diverse perspectives in team decision-making. The role includes routine tissue culture, automated cell-based assays, chemical biology assays for target engagement, and compound management for high-throughput screening. The scientist also maintains laboratory equipment, records and reports experimental data, manages laboratory inventories and supplies, contributes to publications and patent applications, and may assist in training technicians, trainees, and students. The position is based at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland and works days, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
