About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking a Disaster Management (DM) Capacity Building Coordinator to support the facilitation of Learning and Development (L&D) efforts and the management of associated data, knowledge, and evidence. This role is crucial for the Disaster Management (DM) Capacity Building unit, which focuses on translating programmatic Learning and Development needs into practical and experiential learning for the IGP and ISD. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in learning and development, project management, multilateral coordination, and data, information, and knowledge management skills. They should be comfortable working in a dynamic, highly collaborative, and service-focused environment that requires multitasking, flexibility, initiative, collaboration, and a creative approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, competency-based approaches, training methodologies, learning systems and tools.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Data and Information Management.
  • Strong knowledge of knowledge management principles, approaches, and tools.
  • Ability to manage projects, prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • Fluent written & spoken English is required.
  • Must possess strong personal integrity, professionalism, ability to adapt to changing situations, and a commitment to RCRC fundamental principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience developing, designing, and/or implementing competency-based learning activities.
  • Direct experience with commonly used systems and platforms referenced in this JD.
  • Prior experience in international humanitarian sector, disaster management or RCRC Movement.
  • Ability to work with volunteers.
  • Additional languages.
