About The Position

The Arc Minnesota is hiring a Disability Wage Justice Coordinator to support statewide education, outreach, and advocacy related to fair wages and meaningful employment for people with disabilities. This role will help create trainings and materials, build community relationships, coordinate coalition activities, and support outreach across Minnesota. The Coordinator will work closely with people with disabilities, families, employers, service providers, schools, state agencies, advocacy groups, and community partners. The Disability Wage Justice Coordinator reports to the Public Policy Director and works alongside the Advocacy and Community Engagement and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in advocacy, community engagement, or related work.
  • Experience in community engagement, advocacy, workforce development, coalition-building, or related work.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully with people with disabilities, families, employers, community organizations, and other partners.
  • Strong organization and project coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Lived experience with disability, close connection to the disability community, or experience working in disability-related advocacy.
  • Knowledge of subminimum wage policies, disability employment law, workforce equity, public policy, or competitive integrated employment.
  • Experience with coalitions, grassroots advocacy, accessible trainings, or public education materials.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Create trainings, presentations, and materials about disability wage justice, fair pay, and competitive integrated employment.
  • Build relationships with people with disabilities, families, employers, service providers, schools, state agencies, advocacy groups, and community partners across Minnesota.
  • Coordinate community events, listening sessions, coalition meetings, partner projects, and community feedback.
  • Use lived experience and community input to guide education, advocacy, outreach, and systems-change work.
  • Work with partners and employers to promote fair wages, inclusive workplaces, and meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
