About The Position

Grow your career as a Disability Support Worker in Residential Accommodation. This rewarding role supports adults with disability one-on-one or in groups, in their homes and occasionally in the community. You will work closely with individuals to implement personalised plans that address their unique needs and goals. No one work day (or night) will be the same! You might support clients with: working towards their goals, shopping, appointments and events, daily living and personal care needs, including assistance with meal preparation, personal hygiene and mobility, and overnight care. At Yooralla, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive difference, supporting people at home in Shared Supported accommodation and Independent Living settings, and occasionally in the community, to achieve their goals. Yooralla is Victoria’s most established and recognised for purpose disability service provider with more than 100 years of experience offering high quality support services to people with disability. We work in partnership with adults and children, their families and carers to enable them to live the lives they choose.

Requirements

  • A positive approach, initiative and self-motivation.
  • Willingness to be committed to empowering our clients to reach their goals, and to upholding quality and safeguards in your everyday work.
  • Effective communication skills, and good English literacy to communicate well with our clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
  • Willingness to support clients with personal care activities.
  • Australian Driver Licence.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Ability to obtain a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Nice To Haves

  • A Certificate IV in Disability.
