We are seeking skilled and experienced Disability Support Workers, to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Aspendale. The successful candidate will provide support to 4 men with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. You will have experience working with behaviour support plans and providing person centred active support. We have a permanent part time position of 51.5 hours per fortnight available; the successful candidate must be able to commit to the set roster pattern below: Week 1: Tues 4pm – 9:30am (sleepover), Wed 3pm – 8am (sleepover) and Saturday 4pm – 8am (sleepover) Week 2: Mon 8:30am – 4:30pm, Tue 4pm – 9:30am (sleepover) and Thu 2:30pm – 8:30am (sleepover) Casual candidates may also be considered but must be able to commit to sleepover shifts.

Requirements

  • Availability for sleepover shifts
  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Previous experience working behaviours of concern
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
  • Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
