About The Position

The Director of MVF is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the sites daily operations, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, creating a safe supportive environment and providing whole person care of individuals receiving services and supports at MVF, a 10 bed ICF site licensed as a 2100 Medically Fragile. The Director of MVF is a professional position that works under the supervision of the Chief Health Services Officer and is expected to be self-directed and self-motivated to improve their knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations and safety compliance. The Director of MVF must adhere to essential job duties as outlined in the job description. As a team member, the Director of MVF will be committed to the mission and values of GHA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook and access.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to work varied schedule including some evenings and weekends.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and follow through with excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess a strong ability for multitasks.
  • Exhibits discretion and uses independent judgment and leadership.

  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing the essential job duties.
  • Training on the requirement of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the plan's health information Policy under the direction of the plan's Director of Human Resources is a prerequisite for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all site operations care and services provided to individuals receiving supports and services at MVF.
  • Supervise and provide managerial supervision of staff (supervise, train, evaluate and perform disciplinary action as required).
  • Ensure the review, approval, and timely submission of payroll for direct reports.
  • Oversee operations and management of MVF long term care site.
  • Oversee the financial, business planning and personnel operations of MVF.
  • Supervision and personnel management of designated MVF staff (supervise, train and evaluate).
  • Review, approve and submit time on staff supervised.
  • Ensure MVF compliance with HIP AA and other regulations.
  • Ensure that all staff are highly trained and receive appropriate and adequate training in a time period as needed or required by laws, regulations or GHA Policy.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all staff trainings, training records and data systems.
  • Promotes community awareness, development of materials, presentations and serving on community-based committees, as indicated.
  • Participates in scheduled Professional presentations/tours on MVF campus as warranted.
  • Develop external partnerships/internships with outside entities to assist with their educational curriculum (community college, university, etc.)
  • Investigate any violations of GHA Policy and ensure individual's rights are insured as warranted.
  • Assure confidentiality of individual and personnel information.
  • Adhere to HIP AA/Confidentiality compliance in all sites.
  • Participate in on-going education for professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, guidelines and standards in the following for MVF: MH/MR/SAS Licensure, OSHA, Wage and Hour and other documents and ensure facility is in compliance with Federal/State ICF/MR Regulations, Department of Labor, NC Department ofMH/MR/SAS rules, Building Code, Health Department (sanitation), Fire/Safety requirements.

  • Oversee purchasing of medical equipment and supplies for MVF site.
  • Consult with physicians, therapist, and local governing board on ongoing basis.
  • Monitor staff implementation and documentation of training objectives and behavior modification programs and provide feedback as indicated.
  • Monitor individuals care plans, implement treatments and provide guidance.
  • Develop and oversee onboarding site training for new staff & assist with competency evaluations.
  • Oversee Staff schedules and assure appropriate staff coverage.
  • Supervision on all shifts to monitor staff's performances.
  • Ensure that site is maintained according to agency standards and any problems/issues are addressed timely.
  • Participate on the Emergency Preparedness Team for operational emergencies including but not limited to: natural disasters and/or other conditions that would necessitate facility evacuation.
  • Ensure staff maintain current certification for agency required curriculum such as: (PIP)- annual; CPR/First Aid (every 2 years), Medication Administration Training (annually).
  • Communicate parental issues to the appropriate team member.
  • Coordinate TL visits with family.
  • Ensure variety of appropriate leisure activities are present and assist team with adapting to individual functioning levels while implementing autism awareness practices.
  • Complete site inspections and ensure remedial action is implemented.
  • Comply with policies and provide information or report/document needs, problems or violations of Policy immediately to supervisor.
  • Assure confidentiality of individual and personnel information.
  • Participate in and attend annual Individual Service plans and other meetings as required.
  • Monitor and assist with general health services to include medication administration, recording health information, in servicing staff on medication side effects, reviewing health issues to ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Monitor menus and diets of individuals.
  • Be flexible in regard to work schedule.
  • Perform other task/duties/special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Ensure site maintains operational budget.
