About The Position

The Director, Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a senior leader responsible for day-to-day leadership, effectiveness, and maturation of the Global Technology Vendor Management Office. Reporting to the Senior Director, Vendor Management & Business Operations, this role owns execution of the vendor management strategy, ensuring strong performance, commercial discipline, risk management, and operational consistency across all technology vendors. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for vendor governance and performance execution across the Global Technology Organization. Success is measured by improved vendor outcomes, clear visibility into vendor performance and cost, reduced operational and contractual risk, and effective partnership with Technology leaders, Procurement, Finance, and Legal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology or related Field
  • 8+ years of experience in vendor management, sourcing, business operations, or technology operations.
  • Proven experience managing complex vendor portfolios and multiple sourcing models.
  • Strong understanding of technology services, contracts, and commercial models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational execution with rigor and consistency.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working closely with Procurement, Finance, Risk, and Legal functions.
  • Background in technology consulting, managed services, or large-scale vendor engagements.
  • Experience implementing or operating vendor performance management frameworks.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed technology environment.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, execution-focused role.
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined, with strong operational follow-through.
  • Confident, firm, and fair in managing vendor relationships.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates risks and addresses issues early.
  • Clear communicator who can translate operational details into leadership insights.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day leadership of the Global Technology vendor portfolio, ensuring vendors meet performance, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Establish and enforce vendor performance management practices, including KPIs, scorecards, and corrective action plans.
  • Lead vendor issue management and escalation, driving timely resolution and accountability.
  • Serve as the primary Technology counterpart for key strategic vendors.
  • Execute commercial governance processes in partnership with Procurement and Legal, including contract adherence, renewals, amendments, and exits.
  • Ensure rate cards, spend controls, and contractual obligations are actively managed and enforced.
  • Support negotiations through data-driven insights on performance, usage, and market benchmarks.
  • Track vendor financial exposure, risks, and obligations related to Technology services.
  • Plan and run operational vendor governance forums, including monthly and quarterly vendor reviews.
  • Ensure governance forums are outcomes-focused, with clear actions, owners, and follow-through.
  • Prepare vendor performance materials and insights for executive-level reviews.
  • Maintain alignment between vendor governance forums and Technology Rhythms of the Business (ROBs).
  • Identify, assess, and manage vendor-related risks, including operational, financial, security, and compliance risks.
  • Partner with Risk, Security, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure vendor controls are met.
  • Ensure vendor onboarding, offboarding, and access management controls are consistently executed.
  • Proactively surface emerging vendor risks and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Lead VMO operational processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of contracts, spend, performance metrics, and key dates (renewals, expirations).
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of vendor management practices.
  • Contribute to development and refinement of VMO standards, templates, and playbooks owned by the broader Business Operations function.
  • Lead and develop vendor managers and analysts within the VMO.
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards.
  • Build strong vendor management capabilities through coaching, training, and continuous feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, rigor, and partnership.
