This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a hardworking and safety-oriented individual to lead our Transport teams managing transport operations to include transportation, recovery and logistics. As A Director, Transport Operations, you will be directly managing all aspects of a team of passionate and accomplished program managers, engineers and technicians collaborating directly with Operations to meet launch cadence. You will maximize the team’s impact on all aspects of handling Vehicle stages, transport tooling, and critical crane lift operations supporting New Glenn Missions. This role requires collaboration with internal and external teams to manage and coordinate transport operations. This role is also responsible for the professional development of both transport and crane technicians and supporting leadership. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years in supply chain management, with a proven leadership track record.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with tools like Excel and Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and work in cross-functional environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Ability to convey complex information effectively through verbal and written channels.
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies that enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Implement robust management strategies to ensure efficient resource utilization and support business objectives.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and forecasting to anticipate requirements based on sales predictions and growth initiatives.
  • Develop processes to track capacity and transportation capabilities with high fidelity, partnering with engineering teams to define solutions.
  • Find opportunities to optimize transportation operations, reduce costs, and minimize impacts to launch cadence while maintaining high service levels.
  • Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure plans align with business strategies.
  • Apply advanced techniques and tools to evaluate data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of analysts, encouraging a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
