About The Position

AVIXA is seeking a Director, Training - Business and Product Portfolio to lead and grow its training business. This role is focused on the commercial and product aspects of education, understanding learner and customer value, and driving the growth and impact of AVIXA's training offerings for the AV industry. The position owns the strategy, roadmap, performance, and operating priorities for the training business, working with internal teams and cross-functional partners to make data-informed decisions about product development, improvement, packaging, pricing, scaling, localization, and sunsetting. As a not-for-profit association, AVIXA aims to utilize resources efficiently to provide industry-relevant training during a period of rapid change. This role is distinct as it involves running a business line accountable for revenue, margin, learner volume, adoption, certification impact, product performance, and quality. The Director will shape the portfolio, lead the roadmap and lifecycle, make prioritization and MVP decisions, manage resource tradeoffs, and make product recommendations. The role offers senior visibility, working directly with the VP of Content Creation and representing the training business in key conversations. Leadership is through influence, requiring collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Membership, Customer Service, Expo, IT, regional offices, Finance, technical experts, curriculum teams, and major customers. The opportunity includes improving operating discipline, product decision-making, customer feedback loops, roadmap clarity, and commercial performance. The role will also explore modern learning approaches, including AI education development resources, and innovative delivery methods.
