About The Position

The Chief of Staff to the EVP & President, TIC, enables the executive and their leadership team to operate at their highest strategic level by managing priorities, driving alignment, and ensuring execution across the organization. Uses strong leadership and critical thinking skills to analyze, synthesize and evaluate/problem solve to greatly enhance the overall customer experience and drive operational efficiency within the TIC business. Serving as a strategic partner and advisor, improves organizational clarity and execution, fosters stronger collaboration and trust across the organization and accelerates transformation and change initiatives. Participates in all “Operating meetings” to ensure consistency across SLAs, expectations, actions, etc., assists with other critical daily operations of the TIC organization, and ensures the executive is prepared and ready for critical meetings with all the prepared materials (including with the Board). Assists and provides input to the TIC on the strategic direction and priorities of the team as well as all program management to ensure that various organizational strategic priorities are moving forward seamlessly.

Requirements

  • University degree (advanced degree preferred)
  • At least 8-10 years of professional experience.
  • International experience in dynamic environments and highly scientific and/or engineering sectors and industries is preferred.

  • Strategic thinker, data-driven and analytical in approach to solving problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; listens well and can easily learn to communicate in someone else’s “written voice”

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the TIC priorities are embedded across the organization by aligning the team with strategic goals and priorities.
  • Establishes regular cadences to assess progress on strategic priorities, drive accountability and ensure outcomes are measurable.
  • Responsible for overall TIC strategy and long-range planning process.
  • Collaborates with operating teams, embedded strategy leads, and enterprise stakeholders (e.g., commercial, Global Strategic Accounts, Field/lab, and Support Functions) to align goals and direction with TIC vision and business strategy.
  • Acts as a key thought partner, brainstorming and identifying solutions to challenges within the TIC area.
  • TIC liaison for annual strategy summit preparations
  • Explores synergies with Global & Strategic Account teams to look at the customer journey to help ULS achieve greater customer engagement, satisfaction and increased efficiency and profitability.
  • Supports ongoing refinement and governance of the TIC organizational design and operating model and oversees team cadences and town halls.
  • May help organize team meetings, and other special events.
  • Strategically helps manage executives’ time/involvement to ensure project or decision-making processes take place at key times, where their input and authority are most needed.
  • Prepares for and follows up on meetings for the executive – including preparing the leader for upcoming meetings by ensuring they have all the information necessary to be productive and engaged.
  • Oversees meeting preparation and planning for critical high profile meetings, Board meetings, etc.
  • Manages internal and external communications (notably related to TIC) in coordination with Strategic Communications and may also be involved as needed in drafting newsletters, reports, pitch decks, presentations, internal and external communications, and/or social media posts on behalf of the leader.
  • Drives continuous improvement, operational excellence and metrics driven culture.
  • Oversees large, cross-functional, organization-wide high-impact projects or initiatives; brings together important stakeholders to deliver and drive decisions.
