About The Position

At Walmart, we are people-led and tech-powered. The MyWalmart platform team owns and delivers the enterprise platform that powers the daily work lives of 1.6 million store associates nationwide. We build, support, and evolve intuitive tools that simplify store workflows, reduce operational friction, and keep associates connected to what matters most. In close partnership with store operations, product, and engineering teams, the MyWalmart platform team combines strategic program execution, operational discipline, and associate advocacy to deliver reliable technology that makes store work easier and helps our associates better serve our customers. As Director, Technology Operations, you will lead the strategy and operational execution for the MyWalmart platform. You will build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of technology operations professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and growth. In this role, you will partner closely with senior business and technology leaders to align strategic roadmaps with frontline store needs. Leading cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, and retail operations, you will ensure the delivery of dependable tools that simplify daily routines while maintaining disciplined program execution.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership in building, mentoring, and developing high-performing technology operations and program management teams.
  • Track record of partnering with senior business and technology executives to influence strategy and align priorities across matrixed organizations.
  • In-depth experience driving large-scale technology initiatives and translating complex business goals into clear operational execution plans.
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing performance metrics, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement, and proactively mitigating operational risks.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build consensus, advocate for associate needs, and deliver results at scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 7 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • OR 9 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • 4 years’ supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 6 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational strategy and program delivery for the MyWalmart platform, aligning technology initiatives with enterprise business priorities.
  • Partner with senior business, operations, and technology leaders to shape multi-year roadmaps and translate strategy into store-floor results.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing operations team centered on accountability, operational excellence, and talent development.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and store operations to streamline associate workflows, manage performance metrics, and drive data-backed improvements while mitigating operational risk.
