The Director of Technical Services leads the execution of technical operations within an assigned region. This role is responsible for ensuring dialysis equipment, water systems, and facility infrastructure are safe, reliable, and compliant with all regulatory and company standards. The Director focuses on operational performance, team leadership, and day-to-day execution--partnering closely with clinic and regional leaders to maintain high-quality technical services, minimize downtime, and support consistent patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical technology, business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 2--5 years of technical management experience in a multi-site healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment, water systems, and applicable regulations
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel extensively

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical operations across assigned clinics to achieve financial, operational, and growth objectives
  • Drive integration of technical services for acquisitions and support new clinic development (de novos)
  • Manage budgets, labor, and vendor performance to optimize cost and resource utilization
  • Analyze maintenance trends and implement strategies to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Partner with leadership to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual performance targets
  • Ensure all equipment and water systems meet company policy, manufacturer standards, AAMI guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for quality, safety, and productivity
  • Develop and implement standardized processes to ensure consistent regulatory compliance
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs and technical policies
  • Prioritize patient safety at all times
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure all clinics consistently meet certification and regulatory requirements
  • Lead audit readiness and response efforts, including corrective action planning and follow-up
  • Partner with Area Biomedical Managers to address deficiencies and sustain compliance
  • Ensure safe, functional, and compliant physical environments across all facilities
  • Oversee major equipment repairs, capital projects, and facility improvements
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure proper use of supplies
  • Promote and enforce safety practices, including OSHA standards and PPE usage
  • Build strong partnerships with clinic administrators, regional leadership, and corporate teams
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, and priorities effectively across stakeholders
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure timely and effective support
  • Promote a culture of service excellence and responsiveness
  • Lead, coach, and develop Area Biomedical Managers and technical teams
  • Ensure team members meet qualifications and perform within scope of practice and policy
  • Partner with HR on recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Effectively collaborate with operations, construction team, clinical services, and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and appropriate physical plant
