About The Position

Skylo is hiring a Director of Technical Program Management to lead execution across Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Product, Product Support, and Customer Success. The role serves as an execution bridge for infrastructure deployed with satellite operators, carriers, chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. The Director will build and lead two teams: Technical Program Management, which provides the integration layer, and Program Operations, which provides the operating backbone. The goal is to make global deployment predictable and customer-focused while sustaining a culture of invention. The Director will own technical program execution, manage dependencies and risks, apply engineering judgment to trade-offs, establish delivery processes and standards, and run planning and review rhythms. The role will also improve feedback channels from customer operations to engineering and give company leadership and external partners a reliable view of status, trade-offs, and risks. The position is based in Mountain View, California, with onsite work three days per week.

Requirements

  • Experience building and scaling technical program management teams in complex software, networking, or telecom environments.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through influence, clarity, and credibility without relying on direct authority.
  • Technical fluency in cloud-native architectures, network engineering, and global carrier operations.
  • Experience partnering directly with enterprise customer TPM leadership to run joint programs.
  • Strong follow-through and honest communication of technical status to executives and external partners.
  • Curiosity, ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly, openness to feedback and mentorship, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth company where structures are still being built and refined.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team across Technical Program Management and Program Operations.
  • Own technical program execution across Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Product, Product Support, and Customer Success.
  • Manage inter-team dependencies, surface risks early, and clear delivery blockers.
  • Use engineering judgment to make trade-offs among speed, performance, and technical debt, and identify risks before they affect customers.
  • Establish processes, tooling, and delivery standards that support predictable delivery as scope and headcount grow.
  • Run quarterly planning, mid-quarter reviews, retrospectives, and feedback loops.
  • Improve the feedback channels from customer operations to core engineering to shorten the path from field issue to engineering fix.
  • Provide leadership and external partners with reliable information about program status, trade-offs, and risks.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation packages including a stock option-based equity program.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus a retirement plan.
  • Monthly allowances for wellness and education reimbursement.
  • Generous time-off policy and holidays, with the opportunity to temporarily work abroad.
  • Opportunity to work on the world's first commercial, live direct-to-device satellite network.
  • Access to a team across software, hardware, chipsets, telecom, satellite, and network virtualization.
