About The Position

A large acute care hospital is seeking a Director of Surgical Services to provide executive-level leadership for a high-volume surgical services program. This role oversees clinical operations, strategic growth, and team development while partnering with hospital leadership and physicians to support safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• 1+ years of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience required.
• 3+ years applicable experience in acute care Surgical Services required.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational and clinical leadership for Surgical Services, including the Operating Room, CVOR, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia Technicians, and OR Environmental Services.
• Lead and support department managers while overseeing daily operations, staffing, productivity, and performance initiatives.
• Drive evidence-based clinical practices to enhance patient safety, quality outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Manage surgical volume forecasting, patient throughput, and workflow optimization within a high-volume surgical environment.
• Collaborate with physicians and administrative leaders to maintain and expand surgical service lines.
• Oversee budget planning, financial performance, labor management, and supply and equipment cost control.
• Develop and mentor teams through coaching, professional growth, engagement strategies, and talent development.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Surgical Services.
