About The Position

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Director of Surgical Services. This role is responsible for high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s), in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives. Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is a 834 acute care bed facility that has been serving the Las Vegas and Southwest region for nearly 60 years, offering high-quality, advanced healthcare services. It is the largest acute care facility in Nevada and the state's only fresh post-op Pediatric CICU, with an advanced comprehensive stroke center.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
1+ years of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience required
3+ years applicable experience in acute care Surgical Services required

Directs nursing practice and unit operations.

Instills accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.

Ensures effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization.
Maintains staffing to ensure appropriate patient care.
Manages operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment.
Identifies cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
