Director, Supply Planning
About The Position
Reporting to the Sr Vice President, Supply Chain, the Director, Supply Chain Further Processed is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the end-to-end supply chain across Sofina Foods' Further Processed business. The role is accountable for integrating Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Customer Service, Logistics, and the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to deliver exceptional customer service while optimizing inventory investment, manufacturing capacity, working capital, and operating costs. Working collaboratively with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Product Development, Customer Supply Chain, and Logistics, the Director develops and executes supply chain strategies that support profitable growth, improve operational performance, strengthen cross-functional alignment, and drive continuous improvement across the network. The Director establishes planning governance, standardizes business processes, develops organizational capability, and provides leadership to a national team responsible for delivering safe, efficient, customer-focused supply chain execution while supporting Sofina Foods' long-term strategic objectives.
Requirements
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive Supply Chain leadership experience within a complex food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site planning and supply chain operations.
- Proven success implementing Integrated Business Planning (IBP/S&OP) processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory optimization, customer service, logistics, and financial performance management.
- Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, working capital, and operational performance.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and build high-performing teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Further Processed Supply Chain strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Lead the integration of demand, supply, production, customer service, logistics, and inventory planning across the Further Processed network.
- Identify strategic opportunities to improve customer service, reduce costs, increase productivity, and optimize working capital.
- Establish governance and standardized planning processes across the organization.
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure alignment between customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory, and financial objectives.
- Facilitate executive decision-making by presenting business risks, opportunities, and scenario analysis.
- Drive accountability for forecast accuracy, inventory performance, service levels, and capacity utilization.
- Develop strategies that optimize Customer Service, Inventory Investment, Manufacturing Capacity, Working Capital, Distribution Efficiency, and Cost to Serve.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
- Lead initiatives to improve inventory health, SKU management, network optimization, and supply chain resilience.
- Build strong partnerships with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Customer Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Development, and Quality.
- Provide strategic recommendations that balance customer requirements, operational capability, and financial performance.
- Support new product launches, business growth initiatives, network optimization projects, and capital investments.
- Champion Lean principles and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
- Lead transformational initiatives that simplify processes, eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance customer experience.
- Promote data-driven decision making through analytics, reporting, and performance management.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Supply Chain organization.
- Build organizational capability through succession planning, mentoring, and leadership development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure teams operate in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and health & safety expectations.
