About The Position

Cytokinetics is a specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company, building on its over 25 years of pioneering scientific innovations in muscle biology, and advancing a pipeline of potential new medicines for patients suffering from diseases of cardiac muscle dysfunction. The Associate Director, Clinical Supply Chain, will develop and formulate supply chain strategies, meet project deliverables, solve business problems and drive improvements within Global Clinical Supply Chain (GCSC), as well as the Cytokinetics enterprise. This position includes all elements of the clinical supply planning from translating protocol design into executable demand forecasts, through manufacturing to the ultimate distribution and inventory management of clinical supplies at clinical sites worldwide. This role ensures the timely, compliant delivery of high-quality clinical trial materials and investigational medicinal products through cross-functional collaboration, efficient resource management, and vendor oversight. The incumbent will also drive innovation and continuous improvement within clinical supply chain processes while ensuring alignment across the organization, as well as maintaining regulatory compliance to meet corporate objectives.

Requirements

MS or BS in chemistry, pharmaceutics or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years manufacturing experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
5+ years Operations Management experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with oral solid dose and associated manufacturing/packaging and regulatory documentation.
Familiarity with IRT/IWRS/ERP systems capabilities and their operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain end-to-end supply plans for clinical programs, including demand forecasting, production planning, and inventory strategies across depots and external CDMOs.
Translate clinical development forecasts into executable supply strategies that align with CMC, Clinical Operations, Quality, and Regulatory milestones.
Lead cross-functional scenario planning and risk assessments to ensure uninterrupted supply throughout the clinical development lifecycle.
Lead Global Clinical Supply Chain planning activities within the operating model, including CDOP (Clinical Development Operations Planning) and Clinical Supply & Operations Planning.
Demonstrated experience managing global clinical supply programs across all phases of clinical development.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning activities and align supply plans with Clinical Operations, CMC, Quality, Regulatory, and external partners.
Strong vendor management experience, including oversight of CDMOs, depots, IRT providers, logistics providers, and other clinical supply partners.
Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and implementing scalable solutions.
Establishes best practices and drives process standardization across studies, programs, and vendors.
Experience utilizing and supporting clinical supply systems (e.g., IRT, APS, ERP) to enable planning and operational excellence.
Strong analytical capabilities with experience using KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to support decision making.
Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel to support performance monitoring and business insights.
Ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
