About The Position

OpenLoop is a telehealth company that provides support solutions to companies delivering virtual care across a wide range of specialties in all 50 states. The Pharmacy Operations & Supply Chain team manages the process from prescription to delivery through a network of more than 20 fulfillment partners. The Director, Supply Chain Operations owns the execution engine of the function across Systems & Formulary and Network & Fulfillment Operations. The role is responsible for turning operational plans into medication delivered, scaling processes that have become manual and undocumented as volume has grown, and working closely with Product and Engineering to replace workarounds with scalable infrastructure. The Director reports to the VP, Pharmacy Operations & Supply Chain and partners with a peer Director responsible for Demand & Supply Planning. The role leads a multidisciplinary team covering systems and formulary, network partnerships, fulfillment order issues, and new product rollout. It also partners with clinical, Product, Engineering, Patient Support, credentialing, and Quality & Compliance teams to support reliable operations, new product launches, and audit and inspection readiness.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
At least 8 years of experience in operations, fulfillment, systems, or pharmacy operations, including at least 4 years leading teams and managing managers or leads.
People leadership experience across disciplines, including analytical or systems teams and operational or vendor-facing teams; experience hiring, building a team, and directly managing performance.
Demonstrated success scaling a high-volume operations or fulfillment function during rapid growth.
Experience partnering with Product or Engineering on operational tooling, including specifying requirements, participating in prioritization, making scope tradeoffs, and validating shipped work.
Experience establishing processes, documentation, and repeatable systems where little existed, with sound judgment about prioritization.
Experience owning a configuration, routing, or order-flow layer where errors had real customer or patient consequences.
Comfort operating across systems outside one's control, such as order-routing, API, or integration environments.
Vendor and network management experience, including holding partners to service levels while maintaining long-standing relationships.
Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills across technical, operational, clinical, and finance audiences.
Comfort working in a fast-moving, flat-structure environment with many concurrent priorities.

Nice To Haves

503A compounding pharmacy experience, or a pharmacy, healthcare, or regulated-industry background such as 503B, PBM, mail-order prescription, or cGMP experience.
Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and order-routing or API integration environments.
Cold-chain or temperature-controlled fulfillment experience.
Continuous-improvement or Lean background, such as Six Sigma, and experience preparing regulated operations for audit or inspection readiness.

Responsibilities

Own Systems & Formulary configuration, including SKU and formulary builds, state-by-state routing, and integration health across the ordering platform and partner systems.
Build validation into configuration changes because configuration accuracy affects patients.
Own the partner-pharmacy network, including relationships, capacity, pricing, sourcing, onboarding, and 50-state coverage.
Own end-to-end order fulfillment, including exception resolution, carrier and cold-chain issues, and returns.
Drive turnaround service-level agreements across the fulfillment network while balancing service, quality, and cost.
Redesign exception handling to prevent order volume from creating a manual backlog.
Partner daily with Product and Engineering to translate operational problems into requirements and drive scalable tools for order triage and status visibility, network management, and formulary configuration.
Rebuild pharmacy operational processes to scale, including workflows spanning Patient Support and credentialing, while maintaining ongoing business operations.
Create documentation and reference materials, including SKU composition, temperature and handling requirements, and process documentation, so partner teams can self-serve and escalate only exceptions.
Own operational readiness for new products and formulations by partnering with clinical counterparts and driving testing, state coverage, SKU build-out, and launch, including service launches and regulatory changes.
Partner with Quality & Compliance on audit and inspection readiness to ensure configuration, routing, and fulfillment processes withstand cGMP and state-board scrutiny.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across Systems & Formulary and Network & Fulfillment Operations; hire, manage performance directly, define ownership, and reduce key-person risk.
Champion automation and technology that streamline workflows and improve data capture across the function.
