About The Position

VDS is recruiting a Director, Supply Chain to grow the industrial base behind a fast-scaling defense-technology company. The role will identify where suppliers need to add capacity and send market signals before demand arrives. It will also lead sourcing, planning, and supplier performance for defense hardware programs scaling to high-rate production.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical procurement, or supply chain management.
• A record of making supply chains more efficient at scale.
• Experience leading supply chain in manufacturing; the required years are not confirmed.
• Experience with ERP and supplier-portal implementations.

Responsibilities

• Identify industrial-capacity gaps across product lines.
• Partner with business development, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders.
• Build a supplier strategy that relies on competitive commercial markets.
• Set supply chain strategy for continuity, quality, cost, and scale.
• Lead buyers, planners, and sourcing engineers.
• Define and report supply chain KPIs to leadership.
• Identify and reduce supply risk.
