About The Position

The Director, Business Strategy & Transformation for Model e is a high-impact leadership role responsible for architecting and operationalizing the global future of Ford’s electric vehicle business. In this role, you will lead the Strategy & Operations team that serves as the "connective tissue" between Model e leadership’s vision and the operational reality of execution at scale. You will own Ford’s most critical EV strategic priorities—from initial problem framing through full operational execution—influencing decisions that shape Ford’s EV trajectory through 2030 and beyond. Operating as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership and a peer to functional leaders across the enterprise, you will mobilize the organization to compete and win in the rapidly evolving global EV market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive professional experience in corporate strategy, business operations, or management consulting (or 10+ years of experience with a Master’s degree/MBA).
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles with direct accountability for enterprise-level strategic outcomes and leading/developing high-performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s degree in a technical or business field.
  • Prior experience in a VP, Director, or Principal-level role within a top-tier management consulting firm or an in-house strategy function at a global automotive, technology, or clean-energy company.
  • Direct experience owning EV product strategy, EV go-to-market strategy, or EV business unit P&L at scale—including international markets.
  • Proven track record in business development, strategic partnerships, or joint ventures/M&A within the EV, battery, or mobility space.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to distill extreme complexity into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end development of Model e’s global EV strategy through 2030, defining where Ford plays, how Ford wins, and the roadmap to get there.
  • Synthesize market intelligence, competitive dynamics, customer insights, and financial analysis into clear strategic choices that guide enterprise investment and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain a world-class EV fact base, migrating descriptive analysis into prescriptive, data-driven decision-making that strengthens Ford's market position.
  • Oversee strategic planning processes at the business unit level, including portfolio prioritization, investment allocation, and long-range planning.
  • Translate high-level strategy into operational reality by designing and leading the execution systems that move Ford's EV business from strategic intent to measurable market outcomes.
  • Own the operational cadence, governance structures, and decision frameworks that keep Model e's most critical initiatives on track across a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) and accountability metrics, ensuring cross-functional execution matches strategic timelines.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement rigorous process improvements to accelerate execution speed and efficiency.
  • Lead Ford’s response to its most complex, ambiguous EV challenges, including market positioning, product portfolio strategy, go-to-market models, international expansion, and competitive response.
  • Build and deploy rigorous problem-solving frameworks that generate decisive insights and clear, actionable recommendations for C-suite action.
  • Serve as a principal advisor to Model e senior leadership and the Ford+ executive team, framing critical trade-offs and delivering the clarity required to make high-stakes decisions with speed and confidence.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, intellectually curious team of strategy and operations professionals, focusing on leading leaders rather than just individual contributors.
  • Act as the primary catalyst for EV transformation across the enterprise, securing deep commitment and driving consensus across product, technology, marketing, sales, finance, and manufacturing.
  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, extreme ownership, and relentless focus on measurable business impact.
