About The Position

Provides vision and leadership as well as the management and supervision of the District’s Strategy and Technology Support Staff, including Coordinators, School Technology Specialists, Service Desk, and other supporting staff members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; establishes and maintains department operating procedures, workflows, documentation, and reporting. Proactively ensures that critical support services are aligned, responsive, and structured to meet the operational and instructional needs of the District.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science and/or related IT Technology field or In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, will consider High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of mid to senior level experience working in the Information Technology field; A combination of experience & education may be used to meet the Bachelors Degree requirement
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience, with a minimum 3 years supervisory or senior leadership role required
  • Experience leading teams, managing operations, overseeing budgets or resources, and supporting large, complex organizations required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through managers and supervisors
  • Strong understanding of school operations and the ability to support instructional and administrative leaders effectively
  • Ability to align divisional services and resources with District strategic goals and school improvement priorities
  • Demonstrated skill in operational leadership, including establishing clear expectations, accountability structures, and performance measures
  • Ability to analyze data and performance indicators to inform decision-making and continuous improvement priorities
  • Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively and responsibly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to make presentations to District leadership, schools, departments, and community stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across schools, departments, and executive leadership
  • Understanding of technology-enabled systems and services that support instruction and operations, with the ability to oversee such functions without serving as the primary technical expert
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex organizational environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a K–12 educational environment, including school-based leadership experience preferred
  • Experience working with technology-enabled systems and services in support of instructional or operational goals preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the leadership, vision, long range goals & objectives of Strategy & Technology Support to ensure alignment with District strategic priorities & school-based needs
  • Directs/manages the daily operations of support services in accordance with the organization’s values & objectives, ensuring timely, equitable, & effective service delivery to schools and departments
  • Establishes/maintains service standards, Service Level Agreements, escalation protocols, documentation practices, & performance reporting to ensure accountability and transparency
  • Monitors service metrics & performance indicators; identifies trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement; implements corrective actions as necessary
  • Ensures coordinated support for device lifecycle management, support services, software deployments, and related operational functions in alignment with district standards
  • Communicates effectively & consistently regarding service initiatives, operational changes, & incident status to senior leadership, principals, and department leaders
  • Executes relevant division plans, including change management processes, ensuring appropriate communication, impact analysis, & stakeholder engagement for initiatives affecting schools & departments
  • Manages vendor relationships & third-party service contracts; participates in contract review, bidding, & award processes to ensure value and alignment with District needs
  • Ensures that KPIs and SMART goals are established, monitored & evaluated; delegates responsibility appropriately while maintaining accountability for outcomes
  • Conducts regular performance reviews & develops professional growth plans for assigned staff in accordance with District policies; ensures professional development and succession planning within the team
  • Leads/supports coordinators, teams responsible for delivering services to schools & departments
  • Member of the Strategy and Technology Division Leadership Team and contributes to overall strategy, vision, and direction of the Division
  • Ensures that divisional mission, vision, strategy, and operational plans are clearly communicated and understood by all members of the assigned teams
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with principals, department heads, and executive leadership to understand operational needs and remove barriers to success
  • Fosters a culture of service, accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
  • Reviews internal processes and practices for efficiency and effectiveness; implements improvements to enhance the overall customer experience
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of District Talent Office policies, addresses personnel matters appropriately and in collaboration with Human Resources
  • Works to monitor financial management within the assigned area, ensuring purchase orders, budgets, and procurement processes are managed in compliance with District and Finance policies
  • Ensures that relevant Health and Safety requirements are adhered to and that risk assessments and required training are completed in accordance with District guidelines
  • Collaborates with academic and operational leaders to identify emerging needs and ensure divisional services evolve to support instructional and organizational priorities
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives that strengthen service delivery, operational effectiveness, and alignment across schools and central office departments
  • Advises executive leadership on service capacity, resource allocation, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement within the Division
  • Champions continuous improvement efforts that enhance responsiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness
