About The Position

McDonald’s is establishing a new Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement Organization (IS&P) to become a Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement leader. This role is a leadership opportunity within this new organization, focusing on the global strategic sourcing of hardware. The scope includes store/restaurant technology hardware, data center/infrastructure hardware, end-user devices, and related partners and services. The position involves developing and executing multi-year global category strategies, leading sourcing events, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring supply chain resilience and value delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and/or procurement in a highly complex, global environment, with significant experience in hardware categories
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including managing multiple complex sourcing initiatives in parallel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead executive-level stakeholder discussions and drive decisions through influence
  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen, including experience structuring and negotiating supplier agreements

  • Experience with global OEM/ODM and VAR/distribution ecosystems and hardware support/service models
  • Experience building TCO models and using spend and performance analytics to drive decisions
  • Experience with e-sourcing / source-to-contract tools (preferred: SAP Ariba)
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms (preferred: Icertis)

Responsibilities

  • Own a multi-year global category strategy for hardware, aligned to business and technology roadmaps; build and maintain a sourcing pipeline across refresh, new capabilities, and transformation initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ), supplier evaluations, and award recommendations using structured selection criteria (value, risk, capability, innovation, and total cost).
  • Develop negotiation strategies and contract structures across OEM/ODM, VAR, and services partners (pricing models, rebates, price protections, warranties/RMA, lead times, SLAs, and service/support terms).
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leaders; influence decisions across IT and business teams, and align requirements, timelines, and funding to deliver outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a best-in-class supplier segmentation framework (e.g., spend, criticality, performance, risk) and use it to drive supplier rationalization and investment decisions.
  • Establish performance targets and governance (including quarterly business reviews where applicable), monitor adherence to commitments, and drive corrective action and continuous improvement plans.
  • Identify and manage category and supplier risks (allocation constraints, lead times, single-source dependencies, financial/geopolitical exposure) and implement resiliency strategies (dual sourcing, continuity plans).
  • Accountable for delivering cost savings and cost avoidance through fact-based category strategies, demand optimization, and commercial negotiations; establish reporting to track savings, value realization, and supplier outcomes.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to identify innovation opportunities and improve sourcing/procurement processes, governance, and controls.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team; set priorities, coach capability development, and ensure execution across concurrent initiatives.
