Director, Strategic Projects
About The Position
This role supports strategic account development, participates in client presentations, and develops logistics solutions. The Director will also support EPC pursuits and lead the execution of complex multimodal projects. Key responsibilities include overseeing Project Managers (PMs), reviewing execution strategies, mentoring junior PMs, developing transportation concepts, and reviewing engineering studies. The role also involves chartering support, leading RFQs, reviewing costing, performing risk assessments, driving margin improvement, building PM capability, developing SOPs, sharing best practices, and talent development.
Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience in transportation industry
- Fluent in Spanish as a second language
- Proficient in Excel, Word, project, Autodesk DWG TrueView (for AutoCAD drawings)
- Proficient in Gantt charts, route maps
- Requires extended sitting and computer use
- Ability to visit different jobsites and terminals to supervise load out, lifting, tie down and other
- Prolonged exposure to elements
- Frequent visits to areas where PPE required
- Access to restricted areas at port / airport
