About the Role The Director, Strategic Events will own the development and execution of Snowflake's event strategy, leading a high-performing team to deliver world-class event experiences that drive awareness, pipeline impact and community engagement. This includes key Snowflake-led flagship events (Snowflake Summit annual user conference, North America Snowflake World Tours), key executive programming, and more.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in B2B corporate events, with 3+ years in senior leadership roles managing both large-scale flagship events and teams
  • Proven track record leading strategic events that deliver extraordinary experiences, drive pipeline and revenue in enterprise technology or SaaS, and stay on budget
  • Strong people leader with excellent communication skills and experience building and scaling teams
  • A natural connector and collaborator who seamlessly brings constituents from across departments and organizations together to move towards a common set of goals

Responsibilities

  • Own the flagship event (Snowflake Summit) strategy and execution: Build and execute against a set of complex timelines, event architecture models, event R&Rs, workstream processes, vendor processes, budgets, multi-year contracts and project plans.
  • Manage large-scale and long-range budget and operations: Own budget planning, forecasting, and ROI analysis; manage vendors, agencies, venues, and production partners across programs and years
  • Deliver executive programming: Design and execute the Global Black Diamond Council – our most valued worldwide customers – and create bespoke experiences that strengthen relationships and foster valuable feedback from with these strategic accounts
  • Drive measurable pipeline impact: Partner with Field Marketing, Sales, SDR, and Partner teams to ensure Snowflake World Tours deliver amazing experiences that create qualified meetings, pipeline contribution, and accelerated opportunities
  • Lead and develop your team: Manage and mentor a team of event professionals fostering excellence, creativity, and accountability
  • Optimize through data: Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and analytics to measure event performance and business impact; use insights to continuously improve
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work across marketing – Brand, Content, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Global Theaters – to track project success and ensure seamless execution
  • Communicate Complex Ideas Clearly: Communicate with stakeholders across the organization regularly and clearly to help keep projects on track and confusion-free
  • Innovate & Solve: Bring fresh ideas and formats that differentiate Snowflake in the market; bring a problem-solver mindset to projects every day whether it’s creative brand moments, cost efficiencies, or a cutting edge technology pitch
