About The Position

The Director of the Staff Education and Training Unit (SETU) provides leadership for the unit that offers professional development programming to staff members and offices seeking skill development in key areas. This role requires extensive experience in training program development, evaluation methods, learning management systems, and online content development. SETU aims to deliver quality programming that aligns with the strategic objectives of the offices and divisions within DHHS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant degree program and six (6) years of experience in developing and delivering high-quality employee development programs, OR an equivalent ten (10) year combination of education and/or experience.
  • Extensive experience in training program development.
  • Extensive experience in evaluation methods.
  • Extensive experience with learning management systems.
  • Extensive experience in online content development.
  • Experience completing needs assessments or surveys to identify training needs and opportunities.
  • Experience planning, developing, delivering and evaluating training programs to meet Department outcomes.
  • Experience with the evaluation process to confirm return on investment in the use of resources.
  • Experience developing online modules and content knowledge checks to meet compliance requirements of regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge and ability to use learning management systems to deliver training content and track activity.
  • Experience working with adult learners and best practices on effectively training adult learners.
  • Experience coordinating programming with subject matter experts in developing effective curriculum to meet the needs of a diversified department.
  • Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for the Staff Education and Training Unit (SETU).
  • Develops and delivers professional development programming to staff and offices.
  • Oversees training program development, evaluation methods, learning management systems, and online content development.
  • Ensures quality programming that meets the strategic demands of DHHS offices and divisions.
  • Completes needs assessments or surveys to identify training needs and opportunities.
  • Plans, develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs to meet Department outcomes.
  • Manages the evaluation process to confirm return on investment in resource utilization.
  • Develops online modules and knowledge checks to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Utilizes learning management systems to deliver training content and track activity.
  • Works with adult learners and applies best practices for effective adult learning.
  • Coordinates programming with subject matter experts to develop effective curriculum for a diversified department.
  • Supervises staff.
