Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Sanctions compliance, the Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics leads the sanctions program governance and supports the development and execution of program strategy. This includes Policy/Standard/Procedures oversight, new business initiatives, emerging risks and product/program reviews (e.g., gap identification, issue remediation), control monitoring and testing (e.g., performance metrics), training content strategy, international market program coordination/support, financial service principals oversight for sanctions matters and cross functional initiatives/support. The Global Sanctions Compliance team ensures Walmart’s adherence to sanctions laws by defining and implementing risk-based policies, standards, and controls. Collaborating closely with technology, business, and market teams, the group integrates compliance into core operations to prevent engagement with restricted parties and regions. This team plays a critical role in safeguarding Walmart from regulatory risks while supporting compliant business growth. Their work includes policy development, third party screening, risk analysis, training, and continuous improvement to maintain effective governance and compliance across the enterprise.
