About The Position

The Director, Special Projects, leads high-priority, cross-functional initiatives which fall outside the scope of standard project portfolios. This position serves as a trusted execution partner, driving complex, time-sensitive, and strategically critical efforts from concept through delivery. This role requires use of approved AI tools to perform assigned tasks more efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required
  • Ten (10) years of progressive experience leading complex programs, with five (5) of those years in a director-level or equivalent role required
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Planner

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, multi-site retail, dental service organization or private equity backed environments preferred
  • Prior involvement in M&A integration, ERP/EHR implementation, or large-scale transformation programs preferred
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead special initiatives sponsored by the executive team, including, but not limited to, M&A integrations, technology transformations, operational turnarounds, and confidential strategic projects
  • Translate executive intent into clear, actionable plans with measurable outcomes
  • Anticipate needs for the sponsor, own follow-through, and remove barriers
  • Define scope, milestones, governance, and success criteria for each initiative
  • Manage budgets, timelines, vendors, and internal resources across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Identify and mitigate risks early, escalating decisively when needed
  • Partner with department leaders across the organization to align on priorities and deliverables
  • Build coalitions across functions to drive change and adoption
  • Produce executive-ready briefings, status reports, and decision memos
  • Provide transparent, data-driven updates to the Senior team as required
  • Translate technical complexity into clear business narratives
