About The Position

The Director of Engineering for Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) Marketplace initiatives will lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of scalable supply chain and marketplace technology solutions that power Walmart’s omni-channel fulfillment ecosystem. This leader will drive end-to-end engineering execution, partner cross-functionally with Product, Business, and Operations teams, and build high-performing engineering teams focused on innovation, reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale engineering organizations delivering complex, distributed systems in eCommerce, supply chain, marketplace, or fulfillment domains.
  • Strong technical depth in scalable architecture, platform engineering, cloud-native technologies, and enterprise-grade system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional execution and influence senior stakeholders across Product, Operations, Business, and Technology organizations.
  • Exceptional leadership and people development skills with a track record of building high-performing, inclusive, and customer-focused engineering teams.
  • Strong operational mindset with experience driving engineering excellence, reliability, execution predictability, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end engineering delivery for Marketplace initiatives within the Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) organization, ensuring successful implementation of scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Define and execute the engineering strategy, architecture roadmap, and technical direction aligned with Walmart’s omni-channel supply chain and marketplace objectives.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Business, Supply Chain Operations, and other engineering teams to prioritize initiatives and deliver impactful customer and seller experiences.
  • Drive engineering excellence through strong development practices, operational rigor, observability, automation, security, and platform reliability.
  • Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
