The Media Science team at Known utilizes advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms for advertising planning and optimization. They partner with clients to define meaningful metrics and execute media buys across channels to achieve target outcomes. As the Director, Social, you will lead a team of paid social specialists, focusing on best-in-class campaign management, strategy development and implementation, performance tracking, and adherence to deadlines and best practices. You will be responsible for communicating performance internally to Known teams and externally to clients. Collaboration with internal teams (Analytics, Data Scientists, Media Strategy) and platform representatives is key to driving innovation in Paid Social activation and measurement.

Requirements

  • A degree from a well-regarded college or university; STEM degrees are preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in management of the buying, strategy, and execution of highly data-driven performance and brand Paid Social campaigns, ideally in a digital agency environment.
  • 4+ years of experience managing direct reports; experience managing large teams is a plus.
  • A firm understanding of how Paid Social works with Display Media, Paid Search, SEO, Mobile, Organic Social, etc.
  • Fluency with analytics, attribution, and measurement systems.
  • Experience running B2B campaigns on social channels such as LinkedIn and Meta.
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches, showcasing an agency’s differentiators and core value proposition.
  • Experience auditing a client's social channels.
  • Broad range of experience managing paid social across every level of the marketing funnel and a variety of verticals.
  • Understanding of the basic stats and math that inform smart media buying.
  • Superb communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfort going in-platform to pull analyses when necessary.
  • In-platform experience with Meta, TikTok, X, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc.
  • Expertise designing high-performance Social campaigns (e.g., allocation, measurement plan, strategy, and scaling budgets).
  • An ability to translate business challenges into quantitative problems and solve them, delivering high-quality output.
  • An ability to delegate tasks to small and junior teams.
  • Highly collaborative nature.
  • A commitment to managing the quality & accuracy of analytics, ensuring high standards with your and others’ work.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance for paid social campaigns and provide insightful narratives to clients.
  • Design and author overall team strategy and media approach for paid social management across multiple clients and business objectives.
  • Ensure high-standard reporting of social performance to clients and build narratives for account development.
  • Ensure best practices are met across all aspects of paid social planning and buying, and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Build strong relationships with platform representatives and identify potential partner vendors.
  • Manage and develop direct reports, overseeing complete team development.
  • Serve as a point of escalation, resolving client-centric issues and coordinating team efforts.
  • Manage achievement of KPIs and deadlines.
  • Understand client business objectives and translate them into paid social strategy, coordinating with other media channels for cross-channel collaboration.
  • Manage advertising spend, including working with channel specialists on strategy, insights, optimizations, and improvements.
  • Communicate how modern techniques (optimization algorithms, automation, AI) can optimize KPIs within social channels.
  • Build analyses, stories, and presentations for client media plans and reports.
  • Develop POVs on key paid social landscape updates, providing proactive thought leadership to Known teams and clients.
