About The Position

The Director, Data Center Scheduling is a strategic leadership role responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end delivery of IREN’s data center infrastructure across West Texas and Oklahoma. This leader owns the integrated master schedule (IMS) across all active and pipeline projects – from Childress and the Sweetwater hub through to our Woods County, Oklahoma development – ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment and proactive risk mitigation. With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in a relevant field such as Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Operations Research or a related discipline; a Master’s degree and/or PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP or CCP certification is preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in program/project management, with a heavy emphasis on complex mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, or large-scale construction, energy or industrial engineering programs
  • Demonstrated ownership of an integrated master schedule across multiple concurrent projects with a combined capital value of $100M+, ideally at gigawatt-scale campuses
  • Mastery of advanced scheduling tools – Primavera P6 and/or MS Project – including WBS design, resource and cost loading, critical path and float management, and schedule risk analysis (including Monte Carlo)
  • Working knowledge of data center delivery sequencing, including utility interconnection and energization, MEP long-lead procurement, commissioning levels (L1–L5) and integrated systems testing, and how each drives capacity availability dates
  • Proven ability to build and interpret complex data analytics dashboards, capacity heat maps and scenario-planning models (Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet or similar; SQL or Python an advantage)
  • Experience with enterprise capacity planning frameworks and demand versus supply forecasting
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes technical environment, including influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority
  • Highly proficient in MS Office specifically; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Outlook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, service providers and potentially members of the community
  • Thorough research and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to operate where information is incomplete
  • Superior time management and multitasking skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Passionate and confident individual with demonstrated organization, prioritization and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with problem solving in complex projects that have a company-wide impact
  • Willingness to be based within commutable distance of our West Texas operations and to travel regularly between the Texas and Oklahoma sites

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS): Develop, manage and govern comprehensive end-to-end master schedules for every data center project, integrating milestones across land and power, design, long-lead procurement, civil and vertical construction, energization, commissioning, IT fit-out and handover to Operations.
  • Cross-Functional Deliverable Tracking: Oversee and hold accountable all cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Power and Interconnection, IT, Operations and Finance) to ensure dependencies and critical paths are met on time.
  • Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Direct long-term and short-term capacity planning across all regional data centers, aligning MW and IT-load build-out and energization sequencing with corporate demand forecasts, customer commitments and business growth.
  • Heat Mapping & Gap Analysis: Design, implement and maintain advanced capacity heat maps to visualize supply versus demand, proactively identifying capacity delivery gaps and triggering mitigation strategies before bottlenecks occur.
  • Risk & Change Management: Analyze schedule variances, float erosion and supply chain disruption (transformers, switchgear, generators, cooling plant and GPU deliveries), implementing rapid recovery plans and running what-if and scenario analysis to protect energization dates.
  • Executive Reporting: Communicate schedule health, confidence levels and capital phasing implications to the SVP – Data Center Delivery, executive leadership and the Board, with a single source of truth for delivery status.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously improve scheduling methodologies, work breakdown and coding standards, tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive predictability and velocity across the data center portfolio.
  • Contractor & Vendor Schedule Governance: Set and enforce the standard for schedule submissions, progress measurement and reporting by general contractors, EPCs and owner’s representatives, and validate contractor schedules against the IMS.
  • Capital Efficiency: Partner with Finance and Capital Projects to align the IMS with capex phasing, cash flow forecasting and earned value reporting.
  • Leadership & Capability Building: Build, lead and develop a team of schedulers and planners, and act as the recognized subject matter authority on scheduling across the business.
