About The Position

As Director, Retention Analytics, you will lead and evolve McAfee's Retention Analytics function, providing strategic insight that shapes retention strategy, subscriber engagement, customer lifetime value, and business performance. You will be accountable for defining the analytics vision, driving data-informed decision making, and delivering actionable insights that influence executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Finance, Marketing, Engagement, and Retention. This leader will own the retention analytics roadmap, oversee forecasting and performance measurement, and partner closely with senior leaders to identify strategic opportunities, mitigate business risks, and optimize customer outcomes. Success in this role requires exceptional analytical rigor, strong business acumen, executive communication skills, and a proven ability to build and lead high-performing analytics teams. This is a Hybrid position located in one of our hub locations i.e. New York, NY, San Jose, CA, Newport Beach, CA or Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as needed basis likely a few times a month. When you are not working onsite you will work from your home office. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance of a hub location and are not offering relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in analytics, business strategy, management consulting, finance, business intelligence, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of progressive people leadership experience, including managing, developing, and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading analytics functions that influence executive decision-making and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams to define strategy and execute against complex business initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop long-term vision, translate business priorities into analytics strategies, and drive organizational alignment around key objectives.
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of influencing strategic decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Deep expertise in problem solving, forecasting, performance measurement, experimentation, and advanced business analysis.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and make sound decisions in complex, fast-changing environments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear, compelling stories tailored for executive audiences.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for building, coaching, and developing teams while fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.
  • Experience establishing priorities, allocating resources, and driving accountability across a team and function.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint for executive communications.

  • Experience leveraging AI and advanced analytics capabilities to improve insights generation, operational efficiency, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic vision, operating model, and roadmap for the Retention Analytics function, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth priorities.
  • Serve as the senior analytics leader for Retention, translating complex business challenges into actionable insights and recommendations that inform executive decision-making.
  • Drive development of annual, quarterly, and long-range retention plans in partnership with senior stakeholders across Engagement, Retention, Product, Finance, and other business functions.
  • Own retention forecasting and performance management, establishing frameworks to monitor business results, identify risk and opportunity areas, and proactively recommend actions to improve outcomes.
  • Lead analysis of retention performance, subscriber behavior, customer journeys, churn drivers, and loyalty trends to uncover strategic opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Establish rigorous measurement frameworks for retention initiatives, experiments, and A/B testing programs, ensuring investments are evaluated and optimized based on quantifiable business impact.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience leaders to shape and influence critical initiatives that improve customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Modernize and scale analytics capabilities through automation, advanced reporting, self-service insights, and close partnership with Data Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Develop executive-ready narratives, business reviews, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and executive audiences.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Establish departmental goals, operating rhythms, priorities, and success metrics while maintaining full accountability for team performance and business outcomes.
  • Influence cross-functional strategy through data-driven insights, strong stakeholder management, and effective partnership with senior leaders across the organization.
