About The Position

Plans, directs, organizes, leads, and coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department, both inpatient and outpatient services. This includes inpatient services for adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients, as well as outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing. The role oversees goal setting, budget management, and results, developing and implementing systems for consistent evaluation of care. The Director manages the budget, monitors reports, and justifies expenses. They also assist in developing and implementing policies, protocols, and standards to improve care practices, and coordinate projects to align with the organization's vision. Goals for the department are developed to be measurable and consistent with the mission, strategic plan, and quality improvement plans. The Director administers interviews, selects, and hires department personnel. They monitor budget outcomes, clinical interventions, and customer satisfaction, facilitating appropriate interventions. Additionally, the role participates in research and integrates findings into patient care delivery, and provides clinical, consultative, technical, or informational services as needed. Activities of department units are reviewed to ensure customer needs are met cost-effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Science, Business, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Science, Business, or related field.
  • 5 years Healthcare Administrative experience in an acute care environment.
  • Understanding of Respiratory Therapist responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist.
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist NBRC - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years Familiarity with the technical and managerial aspects of a Respiratory Therapy Department.
  • NBRC - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year (for CRT)
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist NBRC - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities
