About The Position

This role is for a critical thinker who loves finance and is a team player. The ideal candidate will be able to switch gears with ease from complex financial analysis to compiling information for lenders to writing financial presentations. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey messages clearly and concisely.

Requirements

  • A University degree or diploma in Real Estate, Business or Finance
  • A minimum 10 years of experience in the Finance sector, with at least 7 years in the Real Estate industry
  • Experience with financing residential developments and/or commercial properties
  • An understanding of real estate fundamentals and valuation principles, and experience working with proformas and underwriting deals
  • A proven track record of deal execution, including preparation of financing presentations and negotiation of loan terms/agreements
  • A well-developed network of contacts in the lending and real estate community
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and advanced level Excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Work and liaise with people across the company including acquisition, development, construction, accounting, asset management and leasing in order to understand the upcoming capital needs of the Company
  • Prepare external financing materials, including financing presentations for debt financings, both first and second mortgages.
  • Source and structure debt financing for acquisitions, development projects and income producing properties.
  • Contribute to the timely completion of real estate acquisition and financing due diligence processes/requirements
  • Develop deep relationships with lenders, including banks, credit unions and non-bank lenders.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior team members, actively supporting their development through day-to-day coaching, knowledge sharing, and best practices
