As a Director of Quality Engineering – Digital Products, you will lead and oversee all quality engineering efforts across multiple systems and cross-functional digital product initiatives. You will manage and develop a high-performing team of testers and engineers, ensuring the delivery of innovative, reliable, and scalable SaaS solutions while optimizing existing applications that support Penske’s lines of business. You will act as a strategic partner to Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, and Infrastructure teams, guiding testing strategy, practices, and architecture to ensure products meet business and user needs. Using your expertise in software quality and testing, you will influence organizational standards, drive process improvements, and ensure quality is embedded throughout the SVPG Product Operating Model—from discovery and framing to development and release. This position is based out of our corporate offices in Reading. PA. This an office first position, at least 4 days in office.

Requirements

Lead and oversee all quality engineering efforts across multiple systems and cross-functional digital product initiatives.
Manage and develop a high-performing team of testers and engineers.
Ensure the delivery of innovative, reliable, and scalable SaaS solutions.
Optimize existing applications that support Penske’s lines of business.
Act as a strategic partner to Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, and Infrastructure teams.
Guide testing strategy, practices, and architecture to ensure products meet business and user needs.
Expertise in software quality and testing.
Influence organizational standards, drive process improvements.
Ensure quality is embedded throughout the SVPG Product Operating Model—from discovery and framing to development and release.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and development for a global team of quality engineers, including onshore and offshore resources.
Establish and oversee testing priorities, schedules, and processes to ensure seamless product delivery and high-quality releases.
Lead hiring, performance management, and career development for team members, fostering collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineering leadership to translate requirements into comprehensive test strategies and plans.
Define and enforce testing standards and best practices across all digital products, ensuring consistent and reusable testing approaches across systems.
Lead testing efforts across multiple products and platforms, including functional, integration, regression, performance, UI, API, and device testing.
Participate in test architecture and design discussions, influencing decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability of test solutions.
Implement metrics and analytics to measure testing effectiveness, identify process improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to triage and resolve production issues, ensuring prompt remediation and knowledge sharing.
Stay abreast of emerging quality engineering tools, methodologies, and technologies, recommending and implementing enhancements to keep Penske competitive.
