About The Position

The Director of Property Tax Transformation & Applied AI is responsible for identifying, validating, and operationalizing high‑impact transformation opportunities within the Property Tax division. This role operates at the intersection of business operations, technology, and AI, translating real‑world PT challenges into actionable solutions that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and client value. This role serves as a bridge between Property Tax leadership, practitioners, and IT by intentionally shaping demand, accelerating clarity around business value, and ensuring AI‑enabled capabilities are grounded in real Property Tax workflows and ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in property tax, tax consulting, operations transformation, analytics, or technology-enabled process improvement
  • Demonstrated success identifying and advancing high-value transformation initiatives using AI, analytics, or automation
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities through both business and technical lenses, including feasibility, scalability, and adoption risk
  • Experience translating business needs into actionable requirements and partnering effectively with IT teams
  • Proven ability to drive adoption, change management, and measurable operational impact
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring talent and supporting team growth
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the talent acquisition process for the team to add top talent
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum per
  • Partner closely with Property Tax leadership and practitioners to: Identify operational pain points, inefficiencies, and scalability constraints
  • Surface high‑value opportunities where AI, analytics, or automation can materially improve outcomes
  • Actively own and advance ideas that would otherwise remain undeveloped due to competing leadership priorities
  • Evaluate opportunities through both a business and technical lens, including operational impact and scalability, feasibility, adoption risk, data readiness
  • Vet ideas directly with the stakeholders to confirm real demand, clear operational ownership, measurable success criteria and value
  • Translate ideas into clear, credible business cases with defined scope, assumptions, and success metrics aligned to PT outcomes
  • Use hands‑on AI and data science skills in partnership with IT teams to build and evaluate proof of concepts, prototypes, and proofs of value quickly
  • Iterate directly with PT stakeholders to refine requirements and outputs
  • Focus on speed, experimentation, and learning, while remaining grounded in real PT workflows, constraints
  • Serve as a translator between Property Tax and IT: Convert business concepts into clear, implementable requirements
  • Help IT understand context, priorities, and real‑world constraints
  • Partner with IT to: Hand off validated use cases for enterprise‑grade delivery
  • Stay engaged through build, deployment, and adoption to ensure solutions actually work in practice
  • Remain accountable for making sure solutions drive real operational change: Support rollout and change management and confirm tools fit day-to-day PT work
  • Help leaders understand how new capabilities should be used and measured
  • Work with leadership to track: Productivity improvements Quality gains Margin or scalability impact
  • Identify opportunities to refine or enhance solutions post-launch based on business outcomes and feedback
  • Contribute to DMA’s positioning in Property Tax transformation as appropriate: Internal education Client discussions Select market‑facing thought leadership
  • Translate complex technical concepts into plain business language for both internal and external audiences
  • Perform other duties as assigned
