About The Position

Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) guides the fight against homelessness with the vision of making it rare, brief, and non-recurring. CHF works collaboratively with governments, service providers, and community partners to translate complex system needs into coordinated, efficient actions that maximize resource impact and create lasting pathways out of homelessness. The organization uses a comprehensive data warehouse to understand community challenges and identify effective solutions, uniting diverse stakeholders around shared goals. Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in program, project and change management
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives or transformation efforts
  • Experience supporting or establishing projects, portfolio, or program management functions
  • Experience advising or working closely with senior leadership

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Formal training or certification in change management (e.g., Prosci or equivalent)
  • Experience in systems-level work (non-profit, government, or multi-agency environments)

Responsibilities

  • Enabling the coordinated delivery of Calgary Homeless Foundation’s strategic and operational priorities across initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Supporting the translation of strategic priorities into well-governed, executable, and sustainable work.
  • Establishing the structures, tools, and practices that enable consistent, high-quality execution across the organization.
  • Ensuring alignment, coordination, and coherence across all levels of execution for individual initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Ensuring CHF has the visibility, discipline, and coordination required to execute effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Leading CHF's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program, ensuring a coordinated, practical, and regularly tested approach to preparedness, continuity, recovery, and resilience.
  • Establishing and maintaining visibility across CHF’s portfolio of initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Supporting prioritization, sequencing, and capacity planning in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Identifying and surfacing interdependencies, risks, and trade-offs to support informed decision-making.
  • Designing, implementing, and continuously improving CHF’s project and change management frameworks, tools, and standards.
  • Ensuring consistent application of methodologies and practices across projects and teams.
  • Promoting a disciplined, pragmatic approach to execution across the organization.
  • Structuring and coordinating initiatives, programs, and projects to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Translating strategic direction into clear scopes, governance approaches, and execution structures.
  • Ensuring initiatives are set up for success through strong planning, coordination, and clarity.
  • Leading the integration of structured change management practices across initiatives and programs.
  • Ensuring the people side of change is addressed through effective engagement, communication, and readiness planning.
  • Supporting sustainable adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the Projects & Change Management function, including P&CM Lead, Project Coordinators, and other positions assigned to the function over time.
  • Setting expectations for delivery discipline, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
  • Supporting the development of internal capability through coaching, feedback, and ongoing development.
  • Establishing and maintaining project governance structures, reporting standards, and escalation pathways.
  • Ensuring consistent portfolio-level reporting, dashboards, and visibility for senior leadership to support decision-making and accountability.
  • Supporting the definition and use of success measures and performance indicators.
  • Owning and maintaining CHF’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program, ensuring it remains practical, current, and aligned with organizational needs.
  • Coordinating cross-functional planning, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement related to business continuity, disaster recovery, and organizational resilience.
  • Supporting clear roles, escalation pathways, and recovery expectations so CHF can respond effectively to disruptions and maintain critical operations.
  • Leading the development and embedding of project and change management capability across the organization.
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contributing to broader organizational priorities where structured execution and change management are required.
  • Providing oversight, coordination, and support to cross-functional programs and organizational priorities (e.g., sponsored training initiatives, reporting processes, and other system-level work), ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and consistent application of project and change management practices.
