About The Position

USAA is launching a new USAA Investment Services Company (ISCO) to serve veterans and their families. This company will combine personalized advice with investment products and solutions to help members achieve their financial goals. The Investment Nurturing team focuses on creating a continuous conversation post-account opening to build member trust, increase engagement, and expand lifetime value through personalized, compliant, and consistent post-account opening experiences across channels. This role is not for transactional or administrative support but uses triggers to build experiences that deepen the member relationship with USAA Investment Advisory. The Director, Product Management will support the Nurturing efforts within ISCO, managing a team of individual contributors responsible for formulating product/sales strategy recommendations based on analysis of profitability, competitiveness, and sales performance throughout the product life cycle. This role involves compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data to make strategic and tactical recommendations, defining business questions, and providing insights to improve business performance. The position supports the maintenance of existing products and may lead the development and launch of less complex new products with channel partners, managing and prioritizing deliverables using Agile principles.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Behavioral Psychology or Statistics OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree (Total of 12 years of experience without bachelor’s degree)
8 years of relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Distribution or Sales/Service or Finance/Accounting Operations, Financial Services or Wealth Management.
4 years of product management, or similar strategic management experience (similar experience includes direct support in managing product performance).
3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (i.e. FINRA).
Experienced in market research to create product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly.
Expert knowledge of applicable product related regulations and, risk and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Communicating and promoting the product value proposition to the Distribution organization.
Ensuring the product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).
Developing new product or sales offerings and enhanced features/services to existing product or sales offerings utilizing Agile methodologies to deliver innovative solutions.
Leading research, analysis, and evaluation of performance metrics to drive recommendations for market opportunities or product enhancements.
Leveraging resources to gather data and member information to support the formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.
Partnering with appropriate stakeholders to develop communications for product and pricing strategies to key stakeholders and committees within the respective Function, Line of Business, and across the association.
Building and overseeing a team of employees for the assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
Interpreting performance results to inform product or sales forecast and planning.
Ensuring risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
