Director Product Management (IC), GenAI Model Customization

AdobeSan Jose, CA
$173,800 - $334,500

About The Position

This role owns strategy across several initiatives in the generative AI model customization and consistency space. It involves defining how different parts fit together and anticipating future developments. The individual will be a key voice for leaders, providing insights into the direction of this field. As the ownership of this portfolio is still developing, this is a hands-on role with direct accountability for one product surface alongside setting the broader strategic direction. Influence in this position stems from expertise and delivered work, rather than organizational hierarchy. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future product roadmap.

Requirements

  • Deep product management experience with expertise recognized beyond your own team.
  • Technical fluency in generative model customization and consistency mechanisms, sufficient to set strategy and perform the work.
  • A proven track record of defining strategy in ambiguous, unowned spaces.
  • Comfort and skill in peer-mentorship, shaping other PMs' thinking without formal authority.
  • Ability to seamlessly transition between company-level strategy and hands-on project ownership, potentially within the same day.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy for the portfolio, defining what "leverage" means across Adobe's generative tools and sequencing bets.
  • Identify and advocate for the next major opportunity in the space before it becomes obvious.
  • Determine the balance between automatic platform handling and direct user control, and differentiate between enterprise and individual creator needs.
  • Take full accountability for one product surface within the portfolio, including roadmap, adoption, and commercial health, especially where ownership is currently weakest.
  • Maintain deep understanding of the details, not just the high-level framework.
  • Serve as the primary authority for generative AI model customization and consistency, providing a point of view for other Adobe teams.
  • Offer peer-level support to other Product Managers, including Principal-level owners of individual surfaces.
  • Represent this area to partners at VP level and above, and contribute externally through talks or shared research to enhance Adobe's standing.

  • Comprehensive benefits programs
