About The Position

This newly created strategic leadership role leads the end-to-end product development lifecycle across a global portfolio. The Director will help improve time-to-market, strengthen product quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and align execution with evolving business priorities. Reporting to the VP, Product Development, the role translates strategy into action through cross-functional partnership with Product, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance. It calls for operational leadership, influence across functions, and the ability to build scalable processes that support growth and innovation.

The Director leads the multi-year product roadmap and New Product Introduction lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment; oversees product verification, validation, testing, certifications, and regulatory compliance; and manages sustaining engineering activities, including product changes (PCNs/ECOs). The role also manages and develops product development and product verification teams, resource planning, budgets, customer support, and KPIs. It establishes processes and uses analytics and AI tools to improve product outcomes and operational efficiency, and periodically engages with customers to identify pain points and product improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience in a product development and/or engineering environment.
• Strong expertise in end-to-end product development lifecycle management within IT hardware, electronics, or hardware/firmware environments.
• Proven experience with regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality standards.
• Strong data analytics capabilities and experience leveraging AI tools for decision-making.
• Deep understanding of IT hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
• Experience managing complex global supply chains and vendor relationships.
• Strong track record of improving time-to-market, product quality, and cost efficiency.
• Exposure to global regulatory frameworks and compliance environments.
• Business acumen, including business case development and commercial decision-making.

• Experience with PLM systems, PIM tools, and product verification/testing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the multi-year product roadmap and New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment.
• Oversee product verification, validation, testing, certifications, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards.
• Manage sustaining engineering activities, including product changes (PCNs/ECOs), to optimize cost, product performance, and product lifecycle management.
• Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, QA, and Executive Leadership to deliver roadmap commitments.
• Manage and develop teams across product development and product verification, including resource planning and budget management.
• Provide top-level customer support and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
• Establish scalable processes to improve time-to-market, product quality, and operational efficiency.
• Drive data-informed decision-making, using analytics and AI tools to identify opportunities and solve complex product challenges.
• Periodically engage with end customers to understand pain points and translate insights into product improvements.
• Establish and track KPIs related to NPI execution, product success, quality, and lifecycle performance.
