About The Position

Sphere Entertainment Co. is a leader in immersive experiences, technology and media. Its businesses include Sphere, an experiential medium powered by advanced technologies, and MSG Networks, which operates regional sports and entertainment networks and the MSG+ streaming product. The Director of Platform & Integration leads platform services and technology integration that underpin live event production. The role combines ownership of shared development and collaboration platforms—including Perforce, TeamCity and TeamViewer—with qualification and integration of new technology, servers and hardware into the event production pipeline. It balances ongoing platform health, availability, access control, versioning, patching, capacity and security planning with production deployments tied to fixed show dates. This role leads a small tactical team, sets priorities across platform operations and show-driven deployments, and serves as an escalation point for show-critical issues. It partners with Creative, Production, Engineering and Systems Architecture teams, manages vendor relationships, plans capacity and refresh needs, develops integration standards and QA criteria, and shapes a multi-year roadmap supporting future venues and event formats. The position reports to the VP of Event Technology. The role is based on-site in Burbank. Development weeks follow standard business hours, while show deployments require travel, evening and weekend availability, and occasional long days on-site. Candidates must be able to pass required background checks and travel to show sites as needed. The pay range is $134,000–$250,000 USD.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on experience administering Perforce (Helix Core) at scale, including depot architecture, replication and proxy topologies.
  • Experience owning CI/CD infrastructure such as TeamCity, Jenkins or equivalent, including build agent fleets and pipeline reliability.
  • Background integrating show and media systems hardware, such as media servers, playback, LED processing and AV networking, into a live production environment.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, storage, Windows/Linux server administration and scripting for automation, such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and practices applicable to production networks, including zero-trust remote access and privileged access management.
  • Prior experience operating in a venue, broadcast, touring or 24/7 operations environment where downtime is highly visible.
  • Demonstrated use of AI and agentic automation to improve operational efficiency in platform administration, build and deployment workflows, monitoring, diagnostics and documentation.
  • Applied understanding of AI-assisted operations, including agent-driven log and anomaly analysis, automated patch and vulnerability triage, access-review automation, and governance and guardrails for operating such tooling safely on production networks.
  • Ability to pass any required background checks and travel to show sites as needed.
  • Ability to work on-site in Burbank and provide evening/weekend availability and occasional long days for show deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a small tactical team responsible for platform services and technology integration, setting priorities across steady-state platform work and show-driven deployments.
  • Own the strategy, administration and lifecycle of core platform services, including availability, access control, versioning, backup and recovery, patching and capacity planning.
  • Define and execute the integration path for new technology, servers and hardware, from evaluation and proof of concept through qualification, staging, documentation and production rollout.
  • Establish and maintain a long-term security roadmap for platform and production infrastructure, including identity and access management, credentialing, remote access controls, network segmentation and audit readiness.
  • Serve as the escalation point for show-critical platform and infrastructure issues, applying calm and decisive technical judgment during live production and compressed deployment windows.
  • Build standards, runbooks and change-management practices that allow new hardware and software to enter production without destabilizing active shows.
  • Partner with Creative, Production, Engineering and Systems Architecture teams to translate production requirements into platform and infrastructure capabilities.
  • Manage vendor and OEM relationships for platform tooling, servers and hardware, including evaluation criteria, licensing, support agreements and renewals.
  • Own capacity and refresh forecasts for build infrastructure, storage and production servers, and translate them into budget and procurement recommendations.
  • Develop QA and acceptance criteria to prove integrated systems’ performance, reliability and supportability before deployment to a show floor.
  • Mentor and develop the team across platform ownership and production integration, building coverage beyond any one individual.
  • Shape the multi-year technical roadmap for platform services and production integration in support of future venues and event formats.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for guests, partners and team members, including adherence to appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Benefits

  • The company offers tools and resources for employee upskilling, career development and advancement.
