Shriners Children’s is seeking an experienced fundraising professional for the Philanthropy Office at our Portland, Oregon facility. This dynamic and meaningful position is for a development professional interested in purposeful fundraising. The Director of Philanthropy serves as a full-time major gifts officer, responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors. This Director plays a vital role in growing philanthropic revenue and is an ideal fit for an entrepreneurial, mission-driven individual. In collaboration with the philanthropy team, responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, stewarding and soliciting contributions from major gift and leadership level donors, executing annual fund campaigns, and planning high-level major donor cultivation events. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as this individual will represent the medical center to both internal and external constituencies. Strong ability to produce various fundraising-related collateral; experience with Blackbaud CRM and/or other donor database systems is preferred. A positive outlook and team player mentality with a willingness to mentor and support other staff as necessary is required. The position requires the ability to travel as needed, and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends as necessary.
