About The Position

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Baystate Health, is seeking a Director of Pharmacy. This role is crucial in prioritizing employee well-being to enable the provision of exceptional patient care that exceeds industry standards. The hospital offers compassionate, high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment for teens, adults, and seniors, utilizing a full range of evidence-based medical and clinical services in a state-of-the-art healing environment. Programs include inpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). The ideal candidate is a dynamic, team-oriented individual passionate about helping others.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
  • Massachusetts State pharmacy license
  • Experience managing the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work.
  • Experience in hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
  • Experience developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives.
  • Experience directing and evaluating departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management.
  • Experience planning and monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Experience preparing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental budgets.
  • Experience coordinating and directing internal/external audits.
  • Experience creating and fostering an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Experience integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
