About The Position

Collectors is seeking a Director, People Operations to join their People team. This role will serve as the operational backbone for the HR function, supporting over 3,000 employees globally across multiple brands. The Director will be responsible for architecting systems, processes, and infrastructure for the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. This position requires close collaboration with leaders in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance, and Legal to build scalable, compliant, and data-driven people operations. This is a high-impact role within a collaborative team focused on modernizing HR to match the company's rapid growth. The role is open to candidates across the United States, with remote, hybrid, and in-office options considered. For candidates within a 1-hour commute of an office, a predominantly on-site presence will be expected. This will be further discussed during the recruitment process. Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years leading a People Operations or HR Operations function at a mid-to-large company; experience in high-growth or multi-brand environments and with various worker types (exempt vs. non-exempt, contingent, etc.).
  • Proven track record of building scalable HR processes and infrastructure in complex, multi-state or global settings, with a focus on consistency, compliance, and the employee experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance across multiple states; experience with international HR is a plus.
  • Highly analytical and data-fluent: you can dive into the data to understand how things are working and where they can be improved.
  • Experience with M&A integrations, including HR due diligence and the people-side of change management across acquired entities.
  • Familiarity with operations-heavy, hourly/production workforce environments alongside a professional/corporate employee base is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing People Operations team, overseeing HR compliance, workforce changes, employee data integrity, and end-to-end employee lifecycle processes across a geographically distributed, multi-brand workforce.
  • Establish and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, and process documentation to create clarity and consistency for employees and managers company-wide.
  • Drive HR compliance across all U.S. states and international jurisdictions, staying ahead of regulatory changes, employment law updates, and audit requirements to protect the company and create a fair, consistent employee experience.
  • Identify and eliminate operational friction; drive automation where it creates real leverage.
  • Partner with Finance and HRIS teams on headcount planning, executive reporting, and other high-stakes projects.
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent & Org Development, Internal Communications, Employee Relations, and the broader People leadership team.
  • Lead People Operations contributions to M&A integrations, including due diligence, integration planning, and onboarding of acquired employee populations across our brands.
  • Build and maintain a strong vendor ecosystem for HR technology, benefits administration, and compliance tools, ensuring we’re leveraging best-in-class solutions as we scale.
  • Build and evolve scalable global processes that add efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead project and program management across the employee lifecycle, ensuring initiatives land consistently across brands, geographies, and teams. Key programs include but are not limited to onboarding, global mobility and immigration, international expansion, talent acquisition operations, offboarding, and other key project priorities.
